In this collection, The Lamb documents the profound wit of a people who choose to speak truth to power. Born during the Woman, Life, Freedom movement (2022) and echoed throughout the recent nationwide uprising (2026), the Bâghâli Polo bâ Gardan (Fava Bean Rice with Lamb Neck) slogan juxtaposes a celebratory, luxurious dish with the reality of those reinforcers of oppression who are used by the regime to maintain control. This design honors the clarity of a movement that sees through deception to expose the human cost of the status quo.
In Iranian protest culture, slogans are a living dialogue: one group shouts the "call," and the crowd roars back the "response." This design presents the call. The completion is a rhyme known by heart and voiced by the brave.
May the day come when democratic mechanisms replace the need for such defiant acts, and no voice is ever again silenced by force.
